HOPE Help Ocean Protect Earth: Images and Musings from the Blue Planet
Speaking to the issue of oceans in peril, Anne draws upon her worldwide diving experiences of the past four decades to show what we have lost, what we stand to lose, and what we can sustain. Journey with Anne from the top of the world to the bottom--from the Arctic to the Antarctic with many places in between including the Bahamas, Papua New Guinea, the Red Sea, Japan and Australia. Sharks and coral polyps and humans are all connected. Healthy oceans provide Earth with water to drink, food to eat, air to breathe: No Ocean No Earth (NONE)®. But we are now at a critical point of HOPE~ Help Ocean Protect Earth. It's a time for HOPE not NONE!

From corals underwater throughout the Indo Pacific, to penguins clustered on Antarctic islands, to polar bears on shrinking Arctic ice climate changes are swirling around the globe. To learn more we asked underwater explorer, writer and photographer Anne Doubilet to explain her advocacy project of HOPE Help Ocean Protect Earth.™
From teeming coral reefs to streaming city streets, life is connected in a vast food web whose sustainability is threatened. Although by 2050 almost 50% of the world’s coral reefs will be at risk, we now stand in a “sweet spot of time” (quote by Dr. Sylvia Earle) where we can sustain the other 50% if we take action. Healthy ocean means healthy earth and hope for the future.
